NYC Ratings: NashFM 94-7 Debuts With A 1.6 Share

Cumulus Media’ WNSH NashFM 94-7 hit the air some 14-days before the most recent ratings period and starts it’s brand awareness with a 1.6 share (6+) in the NYC PPM’s released Monday.  The station placed #20.

The format on the former religious WFME freguency also scored a 1.0 share in Middlesex-Union to tie Country WKMK.  NashFM earned a 1.7 share on Long Island.

The Arbitron reports puts NashFM’s NYC Cume at 728,000.

InsideRadio notes: “Nash FM” WNSH (94.7) is finding its biggest early success among 18-34 year-olds, where it captured a 1.9 total week share in the New York metro according to Arbitron.  But it’s outside the five boroughs, where lower ethnic population levels are most conducive to country, that “Nash” is nailing its best numbers.  In Nassau-Suffolk, the station has a 3.4 among 18-34 year-olds.  At night the share jumps to a  4.9 — only CHR “Z100” WHTZ, rhythmic AC WKTU, rhythmic CHR “Hot 97” WQHT and urban “Power 105.1” WWPR have more 18-34s listeners on Long Island at night.

New Media and Broadcasting advisor Jerry Del Colliano thinks NashFM should have made a stronger debut.

The rest of the NYC field remains pretty much the same as it was in January.  CCM+E’s perennial winner WLTW 106.7 LiteFM moved 7.2-7.6 and remained #1 6+ and CBS Radio’s  WCBS-FM 101.1 remains #2 despite a third consecutive downward trend moving 6.2-6.1.

YMF MEDIA Urban AC WBLS was also down 5.7-5.5, good for #3.  CCM+E Top 40 WHTZ (Z100 FM ) also was off a bit 5.4-5.1 for #4 and rounding out the top 5 was CBS RADIO News WINS 1010 AM 4.5-4.7 for its best month since Sandy hits the metro last November.

25-54: WLTW, WHTZ, WBLS, WSKQ and tied art #5 was WAQX and WCBS-FM
