Philly Radio: WRDW Gets Chunky In Morning Drive

FormerXHTZ San Diego morning host Chunky has landed on his feet in Philadelphia.  Chunky has been hired to be main morning show host at Beasley’s Top40/Rhythmic CHR WRDW Wired96.5.

In between was a short stop at Pat’s King of Steaks, Philly’s famous Cheesesteak location.  After just 5 months at Z in San Diego, Chunky announced in December he was re-locating from San Diego to Philly in order to make cheesesteaks.  He was there just long-enough to warrant some publicity.

Chunky has also logged 3 years at CBS Radio’s WNOW in NYC and 3 years Clear Channel’s WQKI Detroit .

In Philly, Chunky is the ringleader of a new morning show which also includes co-hosts Ghia from WBLI Long Island and Tingle.

WRDW PD Dan Hunt says he’s excited at the prospects for the new morning show. He says it will give Philly a morning show that is real, relevant and local.

As for Chunky,  "Getting the opportunity to host mornings in a Top-10 market is a dream come true for me. The fact that it is mornings at Wired 96.5 is icing on the big-ass cake.

The new morning show replaces Chio (posting, Click Here) and Shila (posting, Click Here) who departed in December.
