Coca-Cola Remains Top Global Brand


The 13th annual Best Global Brands report out yesterday (October 2nd) from brand consulting company Interbrand found that Coca-Cola remains the top global brand, based on criteria including financial performance, the role the brand plays in influencing the choices made by consumers and the brand's ability to help its parent company's earnings. Coca-Cola has been the top brand every year since the report started, with Interbrand estimating its brand value this year at $77.8 billion, up eight percent from 2011. 

Among the changes this year in the top 10 on the list of 100 brands, Apple rose to second place from Number 8 last year and Samsung went up to 9th place from Number 17. In the other direction, Disney fell to 13th place from Number 9 and Hewlett-Packard dropped to Number 15 from 10th place. The top 10 global brands on the 2012 list are:
