FOX Weather Names Jason Hermes VP/Ad Sales, Partnerships

FOX Weather, FOX News Media’s free ad-supported streaming television “FAST” weather service, has hired Jason Hermes as vice president of advertising sales and partnerships, announced Trey Gargano, executive vice president of FOX News Media advertising sales. Hermes, who was most recently the vice president of content marketing sales at The Weather Channel, will begin his new role today reporting to Dan Realson, senior vice president for FOX News Digital sales.

In making the announcement, Gargano said, “We are thrilled to welcome Jason to the FOX Weather team as we’re certain his decades of experience in developing and executing innovative strategies will help drive monetization and operations across our growing weather platform.”

Hermes added, “In just three years, FOX Weather has become the fastest growing weather service in the country and I am excited to work with the team to help drive further innovations and brand expansions.”

For the past four years, Hermes served as vice president of content marketing sales at The Weather Channel. In this capacity, he helped drive new revenue streams and brand partnerships for the network. From 2017 to 2020, he led client development and partnerships for NBC News where he worked to improve market positioning and drive revenue growth for the NBC News Group. Previously, Hermes spent seven years as a senior television, digital and social media sales executive at NBCUniversal Media where he overdelivered a guidance six straight years of more than $30 million with an index ranging between 102% and 123%.

With nearly three decades in the advertising industry, Hermes got his start in the business in the NBC Page Program where he supported CNBC’s ad sales team. Throughout his tenure, he has held various positions at new and emerging media outlets, including Turner Media, AMC Networks, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, datumRx and Corporación América.
