Chris Russo Signs Extended Deal With SiriusXM

Radio Hall of Famer Chris “Mad Dog” Russo has signed a new three-year agreement to remain the face and voice of Mad Dog Sports Radio (Ch. 82).

Chris Russo — who originally joined SiriusXM to launch the Mad Dog Sports Radio channel in 2008 — hosts his daily show, “Mad Dog Unleashed,” every weekday. His entertaining and candid commentary, skill as an interviewer, and encyclopedic knowledge of sports produce some of the most compelling conversations in audio. “Mad Dog Unleashed” guests include league commissioners, owners, current and former athletes, journalists, authors, and more.

“SiriusXM is my radio home,” Russo said. “I’m proud of what we’ve built here over these last 16 years. I love the platform and the freedom to be me and do the kind of show my audience and I enjoy. Four decades into my career I can honestly say I am as excited to turn on that mic and talk to my listeners every day as I was when I first started my career!”

Russo anchors a daily weekday lineup on Mad Dog Sports Radio that features some of the best voices in sports talk radio, with shows including:

  • “The D.A. Show with Babchik” with Damon Amendolara and Mike Babchik (6–9am ET)
  • “Schein on Sports” with Adam Schein (9am–12pm ET)
  • “Beadle & Decker” with Michelle Beadle and Cody Decker (12–3pm ET)
  • “Mad Dog Unleashed” with Christopher Russo (3–6pm ET)
  • “Mad Dog Daily” with Steve Torre (6–7pm ET)
  • “Mad Dog Sports Radio Tonight” with Tom Byrne, JT the Brick, and Lance Medow (7–10pm ET)
  • “Night Cap” with George Wrighster (10pm–12am ET)

Last year, Russo was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame. One of the most prominent and popular hosts in radio history, he spent 19 years hosting the “Mike and the Mad Dog” show on WFAN before joining SiriusXM and building Mad Dog Sports Radio into a popular national sports talk platform.

Russo also hosts “High Heat with Christopher Russo” weekday afternoons on MLB Network and appears as a regular contributor on ESPN’s “First Take.” On SiriusXM, “High Heat” airs on MLB Network Radio (Ch. 89) and “First Take” simulcasts each day on ESPN Xtra (Ch. 81).
