NYC Radio: 77WABC Salutes The Blue All Day Wednesday


77WABC salutes the brave men and women in blue Wednesday, October 25, with Respect the Blue, Trust The Blue, Back the Blue. The all-day tribute honors the men and women in law enforcement who risk their lives every day to keep New York City and America area safe. Respect the Blue, Trust the Blue, Back the Blue will be simulcast on WABC’s sister station, WLIR-FM, 107.1 on Long Island and worldwide on the 77WABC app and www.wabcradio.com.

A press conference will take place at 10:30 am in front of the 77WABC offices. The press conference will open with a Moment of Silence in remembrance of fallen officers. A drive to raise money for the 77WABC Foundation’s Back the Blue Fallen Officer Family Fund will take place on-air throughout the day, with donations accepted at wabcradio.com/familyfund.



John Catsimatidis, Owner of WABC Radio and Red Apple Media, stated, “We are proud to honor the men and women in law enforcement. The police put their lives on the line every day to protect us, our families, and our businesses. We owe them our respect, trust, and gratitude.”

A Law Enforcement Roundtable, hosted by 77WABC’s Dominic Carter, will be videotaped in WABC’s Studio 77, a state-of-the-art audio/video facility, and available On-Demand at www.wabcradio.com. Roundtable participants are: First Deputy Commissioner Tania Kinsella; Detective’s Endowment Association (DEA) President Paul DiGiacomo; Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder; NYPD Chief of Transit Michael Kemper. Highlights from the Roundtable will be posted on 77WABC’s YouTube channel and social media pages.

Scheduled guests for on the air include NYC Mayor Eric Adams; Police Chief Jimmy McCarthy; Police Athletic League (PAL) Executive Director Carlos Velazquez; and members of the Sergeants Endowment Association (SEA), Police Benevolent Association (PBA), Captains Endowment Association, (CEA) and NY State Troopers, plus former NYC Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.

Chad Lopez, President of WABC and Red Apple Media, added, “It’s important to recognize the dedication of our police officers. When everyone else is running away from danger, they are running toward it. We invite everyone from the greater New York City area to listen in and join us as we pay tribute to these true heroes.”
