NYC Radio: 77WABC Touts Ratings Success

77 WABC Radio in New York, the flagship station for the Red Apple Audio Networks, is reporting audience growth since the station came under the ownership of John Catsimatidis’ Red Apple Media.

Catsimatidis made what the station calls ‘common sense’ programming changes. The self-made billionaire and philanthropist has been outspoken about his love for radio and New York City and has given listeners what they want. These strong growth programs, and others, are available to stations across the US from the Red Apple Audio Networks.

The biggest weekday program growth for December 2021 compared to December 2022 comes from three programs
  • The Other Side of Midnight with Frank Morano, 1am-5am... 54% jump
  • The Rudy Giuliani Show, 3pm-4pm... 59% increase
  • The Rita Cosby Show, 10pm-midnight... 46% growth

“We’re having so much fun with WABC and bringing listeners the information and entertainment they want to hear from personalities they know and trust,” stated Catsimatidis. “We’ve taken a common-sense approach to news/talk programming, hired some of the biggest names in politics and entertainment, and we’re grooming new talent, as well.”

“All Red Apple Media programs are designed with the interests of the listeners in mind. And that’s the way audio works best!” said Chad Lopez, President of Red Apple Media, including 77 WABC, New York and Red Apple Audio Networks. “WABC Radio ratings are through the roof every month, and the network is closing in on 150 affiliates since our launch, less than a year ago!”

Red Apple Audio Networks’ programming is available to all stations on a barter basis and distributed live by satellite via Skyview XDS, as well as dedicated FTP.
