Tucson Radio: KiiM-FM 99.5 'Healing Field' To Mark 9/11 Anniversary


CUMULUS MEDIA announces that Country station KiiM-FM 99.5 will construct a “Healing Field” on Saturday, September 11, 2021, in Field 5 of Tucson’s Rillito Park at 4502 N. 1st Avenue in Tucson, AZ, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. 

The Healing Field will feature 2,977 American flags, each representing and remembering those that lost their lives 20 years ago after four U.S. commercial airplanes bound for west coast destinations were hijacked by terrorists. A total of 2,977 people were killed in New York City, Washington, D.C. and outside of Shanksville, PA, on September 11, 2001. The public is invited to visit the Healing Field in Field 5 of Rillito Park from dawn until 10:00pm on Saturday, September 11th.

Buzz Jackson, Program Director, KiiM-FM 99.5, said: “We wanted to give the community a place to reflect and remember the heroes and victims of 9/11 on the 20th anniversary. We thank our partners at Saguaro Solar, Tucson Fire Department, Northwest Fire Department, Tucson Police Department and Pima Country Parks & Recreation for their support in making this memorial a reality. We will never forget.”
