Cedar Rapids-Waterloo Radio: Craig Laue EXITS KOKZ

Craig Laue
Longtime KOKZ 105.7 FM morning host Craig Laue will be MIA starting today.  He has resigned for a job outside radio.

Laue is now marketing director for Waterloo Center for the Arts, according wcfcourier.com.

“The decision to step away from radio wasn’t an easy one. Radio and broadcasting has been a passion of mine, but I’m walking away with no regrets,” said Laue, a Minnesota native who has been a radio broadcaster for more than 20 years. He joined Classic Hits KOKZ in 2007 after nearly 10 years at KFMW Rock 108.

His new position will allow him to “be home more with the family. I’m married with two stepkids who are 11- and 13-years old — pivotal ages — and I want to be around for a lot of their activities.”

“I’m looking forward to being a bigger part of the resurgence and building process in Waterloo and the Cedar Valley. I’m very thankful for the opportunity at the Waterloo Center for the Arts,” he said.

Laue won’t be leaving his post as master of ceremonies for the Waterloo Black Hawks hockey team.

“I’ve been the emcee for more than 18 years. What I like about that job is, it’s a great community of people, like a big family, and the fan base is fantastic. Black Hawks hockey has a rich history, and it’s an honor to be part of that.”
