Cox Country Stations To Simulcast Rare Country Awards Concert

Rare Country has teamed up with Cox Media Group’s (CMG) country stations to simulcast the Rare Country Awards concert event live from Nashville on Thursday, December 14 at 9 pm ET/8 pm CT. The concert will reveal the winners of the 2017 Rare Country Awards, and feature performances by nominees Kane Brown, LANCO and RaeLynn.

Midday host Christi Brooks of The New 93Q Houston and morning co-host JR Jaus of Y100 San Antonio have been tapped to host the one-hour concert, simulcasting from ACME Feed & Seed in downtown Nashville. The event will livestream on RareCountryAwards.com and Rare Country’s Facebook page, and simulcast on these CMG country stations: KKBQ (93Q) Houston, KCYY (Y100) San Antonio, WWKA (K92.3) Orlando, KWEN (K95.5) Tulsa, WHKO (K99.1) Dayton and WNGC/WTSH Atlanta/North Georgia. Each of these stations is also offering listeners a chance to win a trip to Nashville to attend the Rare Country Awards live concert event.

Laurissa Phillips, General Manager, Rare Country, said: “Tapping into the promotional power of CMG stations is a tremendous asset for us, and we’re thrilled to welcome Christi and JR to Nashville for the live show. Their energy and format expertise make them ideal hosts for the livestream and simulcast.”

The Rare Country Awards honor the year’s best in country music as determined by fans. Voting is currently underway at RareCountryAwards.com and runs through Wednesday, Dec. 13.

The Rare Country Awards are the leading all-digital awards experience in country music. The second annual awards celebrate the authenticity of country music and the unique connection between artists and fans. Winners will be announced at a livestreamed concert event scheduled for Thursday, December 14. Last year’s Rare Country Awards drove over 80 million social impressions, two million video views and over a million page views on RareCountry.com.
