LA Radio: KFI-AM Radiothon To Help Feed Kids

Radio hosts from KFI 640 AM will host a radiothon from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday at the Anaheim White House to raise money and collect food for children of low-income families.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Orange County Register reports the station’s hosts will broadcast live from the restaurant to help Caterina’s Club, a foundation established by restaurant owner Bruno Serato in 2005.

The foundation is named after Serato’s mother, who encouraged him to give back to the community. It feeds hot pasta dishes five nights a week to 1,600 children from Anaheim and many other central and north Orange County cities and Long Beach.

During the radiothon, listeners will be invited to donate cash, pasta and pasta sauce to Caterina’s Club.

Last year, the event collected $248,255 and 23 tons of pasta and sauce for the foundation.

An online donation form is at caterinasclub.org and will remain open throughout the event.
