CBS Declines Comment On Lara Logan


CBS News declined to comment on the status of its well-known “60 Minutes” correspondent Lara Logan following the publication of an article in New York magazine that suggested the journalist’s return to the program after making an embarrassing flub in a segment broadcast last October about U.S. operations in Benghazi, Libya, was not definite.

When asked for an update on Logan’s status with the network and a day when she might return, “60 Minutes” spokesman Kevin Tedesco replied to Variety, “We will decline to comment” via email. The New York article, by writer Joe Hagan, said Logan’s return to the venerable newsmagazine “in recent weeks has not appeared certain.”

Logan took a leave of absence from the show in November, the result of a CBS News internal review of the Oct. 27 segment about Benghazi. The network found the report  to be lacking in its efforts to substantiate the assertions of a key source, security officer Dylan Davies.
