Boston Radio 92.9 FM To Stage Rock & Run Event

Radio 92.9 and its parent company, Greater Media, have announced the launch of a proprietary obstacle race called Rock and Run Boston. The inaugural race will take place at the newly developed Assembly Row in Somerville, MA on June 21st, 2014.

The course for Rock and Run Boston will be approximately 3.1 miles along and will feature a mix of fully staffed obstacles such as monkey bars, climbs, hurdles, and walls! The Rock and Run Boston will also feature live musical acts at every mile marker along the course! After crossing the finish line, runners will be invited to relax at a post- race party featuring a beer garden (21+only) and interactive demos and sampling from event sponsors and partners.   The party will be capped off by an exclusive performance by a national recording artist!

Radio 92.9 is no stranger to the event space having owned and produced the long running and hugely successful Radio 92.9 Earth Fest for almost two decades.

“The Radio 92.9 team is excited to bring to Boston what promises to be a physically challenging and hugely entertaining event,” said Rob Williams, Vice President and Market Manager of Greater Media Boston. “We’re especially happy to raise needed funds for the Wounded Warrior Project.”

Registration is currently open at www.rockandrunboston.com and the race is open to male and female racers over the age of 16. The cost of entry includes an official Rock and Run racer shirt, entrance into the exclusive post-race concert and refreshments at the post- race party.  Racers may register as either a “solo artist” (single runner) or as a “band” (team) with between 3-10 runners.

The official charity partner of Rock and Run Boston is the Wounded Warrior Project.  The purpose of the Wounded Warrior Project is to raise awareness and to enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members; to help injured servicemen and women aid and assist each other; and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.  To learn more about the Wounded Warrior project: Click Here.
