LA Radio: Talker Heidi Harris OUT At the Answer

Heidi Harris
6/18/13 UPDATE: Heidi Harris has been doing some fill-in at Denver's KHOW, as that station looks to find a replacement for talker Peter Boyles. Harris is also doing some on-air work for KBET 790 AM in Las Vegas.

About a year ago, conservative talker Heidi Harris left KDWN 720 AM Las Vegas for a deal she “couldn’t refuse”...but apparently the deal has ended.

Harris is out at Salem Communication’s KRLA 870 AM and KTIE 590 AM San Bernardino-Riverside.

Reportedly, a new co-host will be named soon to work with ‘The Morning Answer’ co-hosts Brian Whitman and Ben Shapiro.

A native of Las Vegas and former professional singer and HR recruiter, she began her radio career at KDWN in Las Vegas in 1998.

  1. Now, if we could just get Dennis Pregor, Dennis Miller, Hugh Hewett and the rest of the Right-wing Nuts to get out of town...

    3. Sounds wonderful. You dream of no opposing voice to your own. This should make it clear what "liberal" means in modern times. There is no "liberation" in it. No freedom, but slavery. "My way or the highway". Thanks for the clarity.

    4. There are points of view that our constitution allows. Obviously we have to put up with the likes of you. Funny how you use name calling as the mantra, while we use facts to prove the constant badgering you provide. By the way, children speak in that belligerent fashion. Low information voters have nothing to offer the best country on the planet except...Take what is not theirs

  2. Another arms wide open comment from the "tolerant" left.

  3. There have to be some voices of logic out there to counteract the lunatic left

  4. Heidi will be missed and for all you haters out there go back to the rat hole you crawled out of.

  5. Heidi Harris was the only reason I tuned in the morning radio show. They have a couple nit wits now. I will go back to 79.0 KABC radio.

    1. Amen to that. I do miss Heidi Harris...she made my morning brighter. I wish her the best and do miss her every morning while I drive to work.

  6. I am a convert to KRLA's "The Morning Answer". This show is like three cups of coffee to get me going and has become "must listen" for me ever since Brian and Ben came aboard.
Over the years I have been an avid listener to both KABC's and KFI's morning shows, but their time has come.....and GONE. They are tired and predictable, so I am pleased that KRLA has made this genius move.
One final comment: This show it the radio equivalent of Fox TV's "The Five" which is the BEST show on Fox News Channel.

    1. I liked your comments a lot~~~Agree with most.
I'd just add Heidi really was away quite a bit.
Plus, I felt like she didn't bring a whole lot of Gravitas and Knowledge... she kinda got overshadowed a lot by Whitmans BIG personality, and Ben's pure intellectual horsepower. Hope Elisha can keep up with Brian and Ben. I think eventually it will end up being just Brian and Ben, those two have Terrific Chemistry. They're able to disagree without being disagreeable.

    2. Agree. I miss Heidi, she was smart and fun, but Brian and Ben are really good together. Brian is hilarious and Ben is brilliant. Love that morning show. The new girl Elisha is okay...at least she has good manners and is settling into the show gracefully.

  7. I won't miss motormouth Heidi Harris at all. Although purportedly a conservative she lacked education and intelligence. If KRLA is going to be the Answer in the morning they'd better focus more on serious state and local issues. That's were 790 has them beat. I also recommend that they get rid of Brian Whitman, he has less intelligence than Heidi has.

    1. You are right Leonard; an astute observation. Ben is the only one with true intellect, articulation, and wit. I was sometimes surprised how little Heidi knew and some topics she handled with naivete.

    2. I do miss Heidi, but I have to agree with you on Brian Whitman, or at least someone should suggest he speak about 20% less. His slow speech filibusters some good points than Ben is trying to make and uses up 60% of my drive time with useless drivel that he thinks is clever. I like the impersonations (in small doses), and I think he adds something to the mix -but he's hamming it up too much and I don't appreciate that.

    3. I'd agree that Whitman is over occupying the air. In smaller doses he might be tolerable. Also, he is unable to assemble any logic, or factual support for anything he says. I'm certain Ben uses a laptop to look things up while he comments. Can't Whitman use a laptop? Is he familiar with Google? Wikipedia? It might make it difficult for him to actually use facts, but then we are looking not for more insipid "emoting", but the "Answer"

  8. I miss Heidi Harris - I think she made a lot of sense most of the time, and sorry, the new girl doesn't keep me interested. Have to find another station now. Ben and Heidi "made" the Morning show.

  9. I miss Heidi, also. The Answer lacks a strong female voice, now. Sounds like they are trying to copy AM 790.

  10. Loved Heidi with Brian & Ben. Her replacement sounds like a high school girl with a grating voice, really annoying laugh, & opinions no one cares about. Sorry to hear B & B cow towing to her simply because of her endorsement by Sean Hannity. She would be better served by staying behind the scenes.

    1. New voices are hard to get used to...i missed Glenn Beck for the longest when Heidi started the Answer...then i grew to like her.

  11. Heidi played an important role with Brian and Ben. It was equilibrium that's a rarity on radio. One of the best 1 years of radio - especially during the election lead up. And a very assured strong voice too. Won't be the same.

  12. Heidi was never a good fit for LA. Salem seems confused on what to do with this slot. Ben and Brian are boring. Listen to them one day and you have heard a month's show. The constant left/right debate is old school. If this is the show you want than bring Beck back. Hint your top shows, Prager and Medved are not just politics. BTW, you need to dump "The Answer" tag. It is cheesy and should silly.

  13. Bring back Glenn Beck. We need him now more than ever!

    1. Glenn Beck is a genius - and a gent. I like him.

  14. Salem.................Heidi was the balance between Ben and Brian.
    Big mistake................

    1. your idea of balance is unbalanced, unless you mean she was as much a dimwit as the lefty is. The rotation remains as it was, two righty's and a southpaw.

  15. I like Heidi, but I like Ben and Brian too. They all had their place in the show as a team. Brian goes way back, to the days when he was Mr. KFI and Mr. KABC. He's a smart guy, but sadly enough a leftie pinko. Ben Shapiro is as smart as they get, for a kid. Give him a few years and he's going to be heavy competition for any conservative talk show host out there.

  16. Has Ben ever been on Maddow? That's an exchange I'd like to witness.

  17. I, too, miss Heidi. She, along with Ben and Brian, made for excellent conversation. She was fun and smart, although overshadowed sometimes by Brian and Ben. I really am having a hard time with Elisha. Too childish and too much laughter. Not a good replacement. Find someone else please.

  18. I'm trying to understand why Whitman is there; can't see what, if anything he adds (certainly not cogent ideas, although he is extraordinarilly condescending) - isn't the fact that the "I feel" types already represent the overwhelming majority of the media sufficient unto the day? If I wanted to listen to Whitman's "thoughts" (without foundational logical basis), I listen/watch the network news or almost any other radio station. You've lost me for the morning slot.

  19. The beginning of the end for Heidi was when they added the two b's. She was refreshing at first but grew old quickly. Aw, such is radio. They are all just shills for the corporate sponsers which are ever so steadily eating up more and more of the the airwave time. Radio has become unlistenable since the commercial time is over 33 per cent now. I refuse to listen to radio or tv without a remote or kill switch so as to avoid TOTALLY, all commercial interruptions. You say, well there couldn't be radio/tv without commercials, I say bring it on, please! When did any of these opinionators ever have a REAL job?

  20. From the get-go I liked Heidi, thought she was interesting, different voice, woman's perspective. When they added Ben and Brian, Brian was really hard to take, very condescending. Heidi hardly got to talk, always over run by Brian. Ben is good, very good. Respectful of the others. They should have shipped off Brian and kept Heidi.

  21. I sure miss Heidi, kick brain into neutral and charge ahead. She made my day.Just add street smarts to an I.Q.of approx 140 mix with a short fuse,a perfect mix with Brian & Ben.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I definitely feel the mix is perfect! Elisha is knowledgeable, articulate, and sensitive to the balance needed for all to share. While I don't agree with Brian's views, I do appreciate his graciousness and humor. I feel It's ingenious to feature a liberal so both viewpoints can be directly addressed and compared. Ben is so, so sharp and amazing in his insights and research.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I appreciated Heidi's effort and wish her the best. Very personable and engaging--but I much prefer Elisha, as I think she is more effective with Brian and Ben. Keep her!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I feel as though Ben stole Heidi's show. He is a pretend conservative- fine with amnesty (though he pretends differently at times), fine with homosexual marriage, never met a war he didn't like... I think he and Brian sound like a couple of chipmunks when they get to their high-speed chattering. AND I don't find it amusing when he makes light of real people's tragedies as he does.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I miss Heidi also. I agree with previous comment's that she "made sense." She also stated VERY WELL in her plain spoken way; conservative principles. I wish she had been more a part of every morning dialogue; on the other hand, perhaps she had the common sense to let her formidable co-hosts go at it with the issues.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ben is an arrogant little "twirp", Brian has some "saving" graces, especially manners, Elisha has an "inane" laugh.

  27. Heidi Harris in NOT a veteran radio broadcaster as her bio states. She left KXNT and KDWN in Vegas because her contract was NOT renewed. She got into the radio business on a lucky break... at a time talk radio was looking for conservative voices. She adapted quickly... has a great sense of humor... and learned the radio business. She's ok on the air... NOT a veteran. Her opinion is hers, and anyone who listens long enough knows she's a little girl in a little market. Much harder to make it in LA with big talent.

  28. Sadly she is now here trying to replace Peter on koa, another blowtorch of I got mine screw you teapublicon garbage, Peter was a horrible person but was local and was very interesting despite being a anti Union anti fair taxation, Middle class guy from the rustbelt/Pittsburgh. koa thinks this shrew of a gun nut, churchlady homophobe is the answer? Ha they are doomed. Doomed. Go back to Vegas Dumbass! Heidi is a horrible person...

  29. That little snoot that talks out of the side of her mouth like gretta van muenstral is not needed here in Colorado. The coors, focus on the Family kinda hicks are dying off and her shortsighted top 2%, ayn rayndian puke are unwanted... Listening to the teapublicons cry and whale like little piggies is a guilty pleasure admittedly. God Bless
