Ex-WTKK Talker Doug Meehan Lands Phoenix TV Gig

Doug Meehan joins KNPX 12 News in Phoenix, AZ effective January 14th.

According to a posting on his Facebook page, Meehan will co-anchor 12 News Today with Fay Fredricks.

An experienced anchor and reporter who’s covered everything from the Kennedy family scandals to American Idol. The bulk of his work has been in his hometown of Boston where Doug spent seven years reporting from the field, the desk and in a helicopter for FOX O&O WFXT-TV.




Other stops include KTVT (CBS) and WFAA (Belo) in Dallas, WTSP (Gannett) in Tampa, KEYE in Austin, WPRI in Providence, and both WHDH (NBC) and New England News Network (Hearst) in Boston.

Meehan earned his BA in Mass Communication at Westfield State College in Massachusetts.

    This guy was horrible on fox 25 Boston and worse on that second rate radio show!

    Hey Dougie..(50 something year old guy still calls himself Dougie...) go interview American idol flunkies again!

  2. Hey, Doug, Anon is an idiot. Maybe he is put off by a charmer, which I think you are. I have lived in the valley since 1950. Most of that time we have had a TV, so I have watched the evolution of news reporting. It has been pretty dry, and I only watch briefly if something was happening. Usually reporters look deadpan and maintain a certain aloofness. You bring a refreshing breath of humanistic humor to the news, which is something I think we all need. Your interaction with Faye works. Thanks for coming to Phoenix. --Linda

  3. He is an uber MORON and even goes awkward daily on this broadcast. His hair is GREAT and his gaze is blank which makes his past at Fox unsurprising. Always a treat to get second stringers popping up here in AZ. He makes Fay look SUPER INTELLIGENT though.
