Cleveland Radio: Bob Frantz OUT At WTAM

Longtime WTAM 1100 AM personality Bob Frantz was apparentely abruptly fired Tuesday morning.

Frantz made the announcement on his show's Facebook page:

CCM+E's WTAM was quick to scrub all signs of Frantz from their website.

According to various Twitter accounts, Frantz was "trashing" LeBron James and his potential return to Cleveland Tuesday morning and also got into it with Cleveland city councilman Zack Reed.

Frantz had been with WTAM since 2006 and he also currently does sports coverage for the Lorain Morning Journal and Lake County News-Herald.

Frantz first joined WTAM in 1998, then headed to Sports KTCT=AM in San Francisco, Sports WHOO-AM in Orlando, and Talker WSPD-AM in Toledo before returning to WTAM in 2006.

  1. I found Bob to be one of the most knowledgeable guys on the radio, in any market. I hope he did not get the boot because he did not suck-up to the basketball player. But who knows these days. I'd rather have Bob on the radio than.......

  2. Triv says nasty stuff about James and "gets into it" with a lot of folks. So that seems a lame reason to fire Bob. I liked his show. But we all know management is just another word for bad decision maker.

  3. Good riddance. I have been calling for his demise for years. He is hateful. Hope you saved you money, Bob! Otherwise, you just may be among those you have reviled, those collecting unemployment.

    Thank you WTAM!

  4. Good riddance. I have been calling for this jerk's demise for years. Hope you saved your money, Bob. Otherwise, you may find yourself among those you reviled, collecting unemployment. His is the face of the Angry White Male in Cleveland.

  5. Hopefully, his termination will give him perspective. I cannot count the number of times he has lied on his show to further his narrow , far-right political agenda. BTW, if you want a few of these lies, I can share them.

  6. I hope Bob learns from this incident. He cut off callers that he did not agree with and then savaged them and their intelligence and integrity. He was no fan of free speech, just speech he agreed with. He hated the poor and the working class, and he thought they lived like royalty on food stamps. Well, now he gets to be what he hates.

  7. I am very certain that those who complain about Bob Franz are liberal Dems. In fact Bob was 100% correct what he said about you LibDems. Just look at the last election where you got your asses handed to you :) HAHAHA !!

  8. I remember when he was at The Ticket 1050 (KTCT) in San Francisco in 2000, he was nearly in tears when Bush beat Gore. What snapped in him, he was once a decent guy.
